one time
you stood
in the middle of a large, grassy plain
sky above and green below and nothing in between as far as the eye could see
you proclaimed: “i am free! i am the sky and am i the green and i could run and run and run!”
and so, you ran and ran and ran

until you were stopped by a white picket fence
you exclaimed: “this fence barely reaches up to my waist! the sky is so large and the land is so vast, how can a fence stop me?”
